Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli
- Biography
Born in Varese in 1983 she studied Lyrical Singing at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan.
From an early age she began singing as a soloist in several choirs: from 1998 she became a member and soloist with the "Josquin Desprčs" vocal group conducted by Francesco Motti.
In 2001 she sang with the European Choir, touring in Norway and Sweden, from 2002 she has been part of the Chamber Music choir of the Conservatory of Milan.
From 2003 until the present day she has given over twenty recitals accompanied on the piano by Francesco Miotti, she has also participated in various master classes (with the tenor Palacio and the soprano Luciana Serra amongst others) and in 2005 she performed as a soloist in Parma during the Third Edition of Baroque Musical Review and at The Ravenna Festival with Maestro Ottavia Dantone.
She will soon be appearing in the Monteverdi opera "L'Incronazione di Poppea" once again with Maestro Dantone to be performed in Cremona, Ferrara, Como, Brescia and other important locations.
She is currently collaborating with the flautist Jean-Charles Candido and the pianist Francesco Miotti as the "Trio Estense".

Francesco Miotti - Biography
Born in Varese, he was awarded a diploma for the pianoforte at the age of nineteen under the tutelage of Maestro Ugo Amadei at the Conservatory "G. Verdi" in Milan where, in the subsequent years he studied composition and choral conducting with Maestro's Bruno Bettinelli, Niccolo Castiglioni and Franco Monego.
He taught pianoforte at the Musical College of Varese and experimental music courses at the secondary school in Tradate. He also collaborated with the Chamber Music Orchestra of Verbano including playing as a soloist on the harpsichord.
In 1984 he won the first prize in the National Composition Competition "V. Carrera" at Bergamo with an "Ave Maria" for a female choir of 4 parts which was published by the same publishing house. From 1976 to 1988 he conducted the choir of the Basilica San Vittore in Varese where, for more than thirty years where he regularly performs as the liturgical organist.
From 1987 to 1990 he followed an advanced course of choral conducting at Urbino, Legnano and Milan held by Maestro Jürgen Jürgens from Hamburg. In 1994 he became one of the three founding members of the "Musical Academy St. Agostino" with whom he collaborated both as an instructor and also as a pianist.
From 1994 until 1999 he directed the "Arnatese Choir" from Gallarate Varese, performing at numerous concerts with predominantly operatic repertoire. In 2000 he participated at Val Pusteria in a choral conducting teaching workshop on "Modern European Music" held by the Swedish Maestro Gary Graden.
He currently holds the role of piano accompanist for singing classes at the Music Conservatory "G. Verdi" in Como and also at the Musical College in Varese. He directs the "Vocal Group Josquin Després" of Varese, founded by him in 1982, who have been awarded many prizes in various competitions. With them he has participated in a large variety of concert performances, collaborating with many different orchestral groups.
In 1992, with the same choir, he produced a CD concentrating on group vocal arrangements from the Renaissance period up to and including the 20th century.
His range is exceptional, from accompanying singers to performing as a pianist in groups who tackle all types of music. From classical (duet ting with the flautist Jean-Charles Candido) to Argentinean Tango (with the group "En Dos"), to music from "The Belle Époque" (with the "Art Nouveau" group).
